Why does my VIP Future Champion scooter bog down when throttle is pulled to max speed?

by Carl
(Va.Beach Va)

I have a VIP Future Champion scooter that bogs down when I try to go max speed and the rpms don't go over 6,000. I just bought it from a friend and it feels like it only goes 25 or 30 mph, overall runs OK.

I just want to know how to maximize the speed, Also changing the oil today. Thanks.

Change your spark plug and ignition coil. I just had the same problem. If not that change the cdi. More likely its the plug and or ignition coil

vacuum issue NEW
by: Anonymous

Very high chances that if you have changed the oil and have changed spark plug and or coil and it's still doing it the first thing to check shall be ALL hoses leading from carburetor and manifold and refit them if need by cutting a little small bit of excess if possible if not replace the hose and inspect for anything that does not look right(should be smooth and flat black with no nics cuts or slight abrasions)some can be a hard to find could be as small as a piece of hair and cause issues with the vacuum system these small engines need specific vac systems to run properly

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
