Is there a way to get a replacement key for a Yamaha VWS scooter?

I have purchased a 2006 Yamaha VWS 49cc scooter, went to pick it up, but the owner has lost the only key to it. They have offered to give back our money but it's in great shape and has little KM, can we get a key made for it?
