They have free shipping and well priced scooters. I'm sure they're Chinese scoots but have not read a bad review. Thanks

Did you folks get your scooter?
by: Anonymous

I have been researching where to buy online scooters. While I was very interested in purchasing a scooter from , greenearthscooters.com, when i checked with the BBB, the BBB stated the company was closed and could not be reached. Please let me know what your outcome was.

... Because I just ordered a Carino 150cc ZNEN from them about 20 minutes ago!

I have been doing a LOT of research online, because of course any brick and mortar dealership will tell you how unsafe and unreliable Chinese scooters are, but then, they aren't exactly unbiased, are they? Stumbling across this website has been incredibly helpful, and I finally feel like I've got a fairly evenhanded and objective forum for the many many scooter brands out there to choose from.

Living in Key West, I know that parts weather down here a lot faster than in more moderate climates, so I expect to have a more rigorous maintenance schedule than someone in a moderate climate would. What endeared me to the Chinese scooter is the idea that, although of course they put the cheapest bits on that they can get away with, when those parts wear down, which they will pretty quickly down here, they can be replaced with better quality bits. Even with the labor and parts, it'll still be cheaper than the nearly three grand I'd have to spend for something with a name brand.

After having read Jim Z's rave reviews of GSMotorworks, I called them first, but they no longer carry the specific model I was searching for. However, even after establishing that I wouldn't be buying from them (my heart is really set on this one model!), the guy I spoke with, Trevor, was incredibly helpful with answering some of my lingering questions regarding both brands that they carry, and some they don't. For instance, ZNEN is an engine manufacturer, whereas Tao Tao actually assembles and puts out finished units. Kandi, another brand that I've seen linked with this particular scooter (the names Lance Milan, Elite Marina, and ZNEN zn150t-f have been attached to this identical body style on different websites) turns out to be a secondary brand name, like Lance and Elite, not a manufacturer as I had been previously led to believe through online research. Trevor was friendly, open, and forthcoming with information, and directed me to Green Earth, even verifying that they had the model I was looking for before giving me their website, thus saving me a potential letdown or a wild good chase.

Green Earth answered the phone on the second ring, and those of you who've dealt with online scooter retailers know how pleasantly surprising it is to find yourself speaking to A REAL PERSON, and on the first attempt, nonetheless!! Trent was very friendly as well, and even appropriately apologetic that they only had the bubblegum pink color left - he even gave me tips for refinishing the various panels for a super cool custom look! (He opted for covering his "chrome" bits with flat black -I bet it looks rad!!). He took all my information, and took his time with me, so I didn't feel rushed into dropping a G at all. :-) I wont know for a couple weeks how reliable the product is, especially with it being a holiday weekend, but I am very excited to get scooting!!

Green Earth Scooters are the sales arm for Peace Industries the importer of Bashan scooters. They are now selling leftover 150cc JCL scooters also, a good brand also. The only knock I've heard about Green Earth is that they don't call you back when they say they will get back to you about a problem. My take on that is they are understaffed and swamped with phone calls causing them to "forget" to return calls once they find information. Other than that they have parts for their scooters, have techs that can help you and stand behind their warranty. The scooters themselves are pretty good and won't let you down. After GS Motorworks, they're pretty good.

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...

ATTENTION! I have had to delete the Scooter Forum for this site, unfortunately. Despite my best efforts, I could not adequately prevent daily attacks by hackers and spammers. Even though most of their posts did not go public, they still cluttered up my website host's server space, jeopardizing my account. I appreciate everyone's contributions over the past few years and I apologize for having to do this.

Wondering why your scooter question never got posted?

Chances are, there is a good reason. Did you...

If you "checked yes" on any of the points above, then I've deleted your post. Sorry, but I have standards. Feel free to re-submit, following the instructions I have everywhere on the site.

Also... all submissions have to be reviewed by me, and I am currently backlogged. Comments go live without approval, but still take 30 to 60 minutes to show up, so don't repost them, please.
