2011 Genuine Stella 4T Review

by SamFu
(SoCal)

I've only had my Stella for 3 months, but so far I love it. Reminds me of my Vespa I had back in the 80s except this one is a 4 stroke. I have just over 700 miles on it and she performs great!

Gas mileage is great, my best was 94 MPG! Top speed so far has been 58MPH,(GPS verified). She cruises at 50MPH with ease. As with most 4 strokes, MPG and MPH will probably go up when she is fully broken in.

Brakes are decent but not great, they get the job done. Shifting is easy. It's extremely quiet, almost too quiet for my taste.

If I have any gripes about this scooter they are minor and fixable. The turn signal beeper is extremely annoying. Also the grip on the shifter wont stay put. I'm going to wire it down like my dirt bikes this weekend.

That's about it... no mechanical problems yet, good looks, like a classic Vespa. Lots of the chrome goodies for a P series Vespa's bolt right on. My wife says I always have smile on my face as I pull into the garage.

Not a Vespa NEW
by: Anonymous

True that this Stella has the same looks as a Vespa but under the shell of the exterior it is an Indian made knock off of a true Italian made Vespa. There are a lot of issue with this genuine imitator with the electrical and build quality. Buy a vintage Vespa P200 far less problems.

Fix for Gear Shift Problem
by: Anonymous

What you need to do is adjust your gear shift cables.A common issue certainly with a just broken in new PX style scooter. In the course of breaking in your scooter the cables have stretched a little and need to have some slack adjusted out of them.Locate a Haynes manual for PX Series Vespas for the very easy to do procedure.

choke problems or gear cables are loose?
by: Frank

I bought a Stella 2012 recently and I always have problems with the gears; I get stuck on neutral even though the white dot is on the 1st gear, the engine reves up then I have to hold the clutch and return on 1st gear but I have to go toward 2nd gear to find out that the wite dot is on first gear?

The choke seems to be left on the on position even though it's pushed back in all the way.

In 1st start or cold, the engine starts on first kick or electric.

The neutral light is never ON, even though I'm playing with the gears. When I change gears, it always makes a very loud noise?

I have great dificulty getting out of 1st gear most of the time after a stop or light... the engine reves-up when I start giving gas.

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
