Yamaha 125 Zuma
by: Anonymous

There is more additions both for looks and performance for these scooters than most other scooters. Lots of Yamaha shops to get it worked on if you need. Some pipes add noise but better performance.

Just got new Zuma 125!!!
by: Phil Theman

Just picked up a new 2009 Zuma 125 from State 8 in Akron OH. Blow out sale price of $1995. With the paperwork and tax & licence $2350. Out the door. I have been riding a 50cc Honda Ruckus and had my eye on the Zuma for some time. At this price, I made my move.

The Zuma has more power than the Ruckus and keeps up with traffic pretty well. Also climbs hills without having to pull over to the right to let cars pass. Feels like a bigger bike than it is.

I'm really enjoying riding the Zuma (yellow one!). Cruises at 50 mph without problems. I'm 6' 200 lbs. Got her up to 60 mph. Had to tuck my feet in and crouch down a little, but it hit 60 on the speedo.

Very happy with this scooter.

Two minor complaints. Storage space is limited. I have not had a problem with this yet, but compared to the Ruckus, it is lacking. I've ordered the luggage rack from eBay, so I hope that helps.

The other gripe is the floorboard foot space. I wear size 14 shoes and my feet just fit. No room to move around. Anyone with a Ruckus knows there is lots of room to move your feet around. I've learned I can gain a little rearward movement by putting my heels on the passenger pegs.

So far, gas mileage is good, 80 miles per gallon seems accurate. This is a great little scooter and my complaints are minor. Starts right up and runs great. My Ruckus is already on Craig's List. I love that little my Ruckus too, but one of them has to go!

Yamaha Zuma in Stealth Mode
by: YellowScooter

I'm so glad to finally own a 125cc Yamaha Zuma! The ride's just as smooth at 60mph as it is at 35mph. In my area, MC endorsements are very difficult to acquire when nobody in your family rides. Not to mention scooter insurance is nearly impossible to find.

My sticker-whipped Zuma 125 fronts like its exempted 49cc little brother seamlessly! Not so much as a single raised eyebrow.

Zuma 125
by: glenski

I absolutely love the Zuma 125. Previously had a Honda Metro 49cc, but other than short stints around the block (level ground only!!) it seemed too under powered to ride safely on the streets.

Comparable, the Zuma 125 power is way better, the ride is excellent, and for me could not find anything else out there that actually can be used for off paved roads (not for serious dirt biking, but acceptable and confident riding the Zuma off road).
The Zuma looks sporty and is well made, brakes are good, although they squeak a little at only 210 miles.
Love my Zuma, would recommend!

Love it so far
by: Gerard in LA

I have 600 miles on my scooter so far and it's been great. Since I'm not a big fat hippo, zipping along in Los Angeles traffic at 40 to 50mph is a breeze. So far, i've averaged about 85 mpg. I'm used to riding a litre bike so the underseat storage is great to have. What really irks me is the fuel tank access. It's inconveniently located at the front of the seat. obviously Yamaha designers weren't thinking when they chose to put the opening there.

I'd love to see a bit more info on this brand/model of scooter. This is a rather sparse scooter review as it stands.

Anyone have anything else to add on the Yamaha Zuma? If so, post a comment here please...

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
