a better vespa?
by: Anonymous

Great scooter - I have a fuel injected Honda and bought this for my son. I does run more rough but it sounds great goes well, stops quick and looks really retro and cool. This scooter handles better than my Honda Elite and I really like it. Being discontinued by Yamaha you can get a $500 rebate now, so you can do a new OTD for under $2.400.

Really nice and I am glad I bought it - runs really well at 34-40 and feels solid. Did the Cheap china scooter thing and it only ran for 20 miles before needing a new carb. Met another guy with one where the kick stand failed and he got the hot bike on his leg and needed a long hospital stay and plastic surgery.

I returned this BMS, SSR Fly and bought quality you can feel. Yamaha is one of the best, not perfect but quality and safetly.

Gas leak
by: Anonymous

Upgraded my wife's Zuma 50 to a Vino 125 in 2009. She uses it to zip around town and back and forth from the local college campus. It has been garage stored for the winter and the gas was treated with the appropriate amount of "Sta-Bil" fuel stabilizer. Today, 13 February 2011, while attempting to start it, it would run for about 5 seconds and then fuel would run out the bottom of the machine in the vicinity of the kick stand. Tried it a few more times with the same results. Any suggestions? Mike in Mississippi

Good, but that seat is HARDDDD..
by: Eddie Mikell

I bought a Vino 50cc for my wife to practice on for her motorcycle license. She has been very pleased with it, and rides it a lot. I've ridden it, and while I was waiting for us both to get a motorcycle, I bought the Vino 125, to have a little more zip.

It is an ok bike. It will do 50mph easily, and looks a lot like her bike. The only thing is that seat is one of the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on! The one on the Vino 50cc is comfy, but this one is like the Vino seat from hell. Actually for the slight difference in speed, I'm sorry I bought the 125, wish I had stuck with another 50cc!

Vino 125 is SWEET
by: Angie T.

I purchased my 125 Vino on May 23rd and have about 65 miles on it. I absolutley love this scooter. Had a Vino Classic and traded it in for this one. Should have done it sooner. Love the style, ride, storage and sound of the exhaust. Thought about buying other 125 or 150 scooters, but kept coming back to the Yamaha Vino. Glad I did.

My Vino
by: Scooter mom

I also bought my Vino 125 in Oct 08. After jumping though many DMV hoops ( I live in California), I'm on the road and loving it. I attended a motorcycle safety course and it really motivated me to get out there and have fun. In my opinion, this is one of the best scooters on the market right now, as far as price and reliability.

riding a scooter again
by: Anonymous

it'comforting knowing that older people are enjoying the scooter. i am fifty six years old and i had a honda scooter 49 cc about five years ago, but sold it because it was slow and topped out at only around 38 mph. so i sold it and now years later i find that some scooters do have more power and so i decided to buy one. my scooter has not been broken in as of this writing, i only have 15 miles on it, however, i plan to use my scoote alot this summer and i am looking forward to riding a scooter that can keep up with the traffic.

Good for You, Floyd!
by: Kathi

Thanks for submitting this review, Floyd. We've sure been hearing good things about the Yamaha scooter line here.

I really enjoy hearing about the scooter exploits of my "older" readers as I am well on my way to that designation myself. Seems scooters appeal to all ages... and all ages can ride them. I hope your wife realizes what she is missing soon. :-)

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
