Why won't the alarm remote work with the alarm on my scooter?

Help! I have a BMS 150cc scooter that is 6 months old. I ride it everywhere. The last rain we had I rode it to work... I took the remote off the key chain and put it in my pocket so it wouldn't get wet.

While riding, my turn signals started to flash and once I got to work I tried to use my remote and it wouldn't work I bought a new battery for my remote and still the alarm wouldn't work.

Last night when I got off work I touched my scooter and it started to whistle. I thought cool the alarm is working. Well yeah the alarm works but my remote won't turn it on or off. So as you know it won't start if you don't turn the alarm off. I can't even kick start it while the alarm is engaged. Help what can I do? It left me stranded last night.

Remote start not working NEW
by: Indiana

Having the same problem, I am wondering if there is a short or loose harness somewhere, but hate to take it apart because it's a huge pain in the ass. I am hoping someone has had the same problem and can point us the fastest route to fixing this.. Thanks!....

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.
