I bought two of them NEW
by: Scootercruiser

i've had a Goldwing and Silver Wing for over ten years. Bought a silver 2009 SYM HD 200 last summer--and since no dealers in KC area had them--paid to have it shipped from Seattle. Two months later--an area dealer got the 2012 matte black/red calipers/stiching in. I had 16k on my Silver Wing--and i decided to trade it in on the black. Now i have two HD 200's--and i love them. best bike i've had. Got the silver one up to 72mph the other day and getting 76 mpg. Half the weight of my Silver Wing and plenty of get up and go. Get a nice wind visor helmet--a couple of Aerostitch portable bags--and you're ready to ride.

You're right...it's an excellent scooter
by: Bill B.

I have ridden SYM 200HD (2007) about 120 miles after buying it 2nd hand with 900 miles on it originally. I have a tailbag on the back from Fieldsheer and I added red reflectors under the zipper to increase visibility from the rear.

I added saddlebags which I purchased as separate briefcases from Academy sports and mounted these with padded straps and stretch cords. Now I wish to add a windshield to it due to number of "Love Bugs" flying everywhere here in Florida.

Obviously the engineering is excellent on the SYM 200HD. You can't underestimate the ceramic-lined cylinder for moving heat away from the cylinder head and dissipating it.

This feature increases power and will eliminate wear on the engine. The SYM 200HD is very quick, but a steady ride and essentially comfortable. The Tailbag is mounted behind me to provide lumbar support.

I have found the SYM is giving me about 60-65 MPG in the city where there are lots of lights (Pensacola).

Thanks for the excellent review.

Nice to see a review of the HD200. We've had one since last spring. It has 3,500 miles now. Great scooter, gets quicker as it breaks in.

Me too
by: N.D.

I have a SYM HD 200 as well. First time I rode it, I tipped it to the ground. I'm a lot better at it now after some practice, and I love this thing. I find it's a bit bumpy on some roads at slower speeds (large wheels maybe), but it really performs at 35-40. Haven't taken it up any higher yet, but so far it's a great machine, and easy to handle at slow speeds once you get the countersteering down. Good page, thanks.

Super Review, Jim!
by: Kathi

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time to write such a detailed review of your new ride. I hadn't heard of the SYM line, but it sounds as though it has a lot going for it. Have a great time, scootin'...

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
