My scooter

Hello, I have 6,300 miles on my Peace Sports VIP scooter. From day one, there was a sound in the front end like plastic was rubbing. I brought it back to the dealer and they took off the brake assembly and sanded down the brakes and glued them back. It did not fix the problem. I think the metal disc in the front is not totally round.

In any event, the dealer was not willing to get new parts for the front end or make sure the problem was fixed. I now sqirt a little wd 40 every few days and it stops the noise.

In addition, the plastic fenders will not take the weight of a 300 pound person, or 300 lbs. people totalling two people. They are attached by small pieces that can easily crack with weight. If you are 200 lbs or so, you will be fine.

The performance of the scooter's engine has been very, very good. I think the motor is the best thing built on the bike. Just now, my rear right blinker has stopped working. Days later, the right front, now the low beam light. I need to check fuses, bulbs and I hope not wiring.

I think these bikes are good for lighter use, lighter people, etc. If you will use it a whole lot, maybe paying a little more may be worth the trouble.

I have enjoyed the scooter very much. I now think I hear a little louder engine sound which may indicate a valve adjustment is due or parts begining to wear! Not sure. My battery died in the first 3 months, got another for 50 bucks.

I have a 150cc VIP. I like my bike very much.
I have had two 150cc and two 50cc. A countless
number of engines. All of them have been a piece of shit. I have not been good to my bike so it has not been
good to me. I ride very hard, and on average
50 to 100 miles a day. If u change your oil and
do regular maintenance one should be satisfied
with a low cost china made scooter.

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.
