Eagle Sporty 150 Scooter Review

by Jeffrey B. Krott
(Helena, MT USA)

This scooter is a piece of crap. I have spent more time trying to fix it than I have riding it. I have had problems with it from the time it was delivered new!

It came with a flat tire and much more was wrong with it. I have had to go through 6 voltage regulator/rectifiers, numerous headlight bulbs, 4 batteries, a wire harness, and my scooter still doesn't work! Right now I am trying to find its starter motor.

Keep in mind that I am not a mechanic and have never worked on a scooter before. When a person purchases a scooter online, one can expect that your local scooter store/dealer/repair shop will not work on it unless you pay them dearly for it.

It is far better to purchase a scooter from a local dealer than to purchase one online. The local dealer will repair it for far less. When purchasing a scooter online, unless you are a mechanic, you will have to perform all the maintenance and repairs on your own.

I am going through my own version of hell trying to fix my scooter. With very few people in my area to help me, I am really getting ticked off.

I like my Tao Tao NEW
by: Anonymous

To all of you out there who complain about Tao Tao. I have a 150cc and I love it! I have had no real problems except a Vac Hose come undone. I've changed the oil and Gear oil in it and made sure everything is tightened. No other problems. I've got over 800miles on it and I average about 83 to 90mpg. I'd buy another one again.

Do not purchase a scooter from Tao Tao
by: Anonymous

In my earlier post I talked about my Eagle scooter being a piece of crap. I bought it from Tao Tao! Don't ever buy a scooter from Tao Tao! They sell cheap Chinese made crap and local dealerships won't be willing to service your scooter because you bought it online and not their local dealership!

Any scooter you purchase online you will have to work on yourself. Tao Tao complains about sending replacement parts when the scooter breaks down. They even swaore at me and called me the F word!

Only purchase a quality scooter from a well known local trusted reputable dealer. Stay away from cheap Chinese crap! If you are thinking purchasing a $600 scooter online from Tao Tao, don't!

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
