Can scooter go for 150 miles one way in 65mph - 75mph on interstate?

I am planning on buy 150cc scooter and wondering if I can use it as transportation, even once a while for long distance like one way of 150 miles.

Answer: Rusty, others may chime in here, but to my knowledge, there aren't many (or any) 150cc scooters that can go as fast as 65 to 75MPH. Most top out at 55 to 60MPH and that's at full throttle.

It's never a good idea to ride at full throttle for a long distance, from what I hear. So I'm guessing the answer to your question is no, but what do others think?

Get you a used Honda Reflex. I have one and have put 24,000 miles on it without any problems. I have taken trips off 3,000 miles in eight days and easily kept up with the group. The relex is not the best handling scooter but for the average riderit will do just fine.
If you are a sports rider get you a 16 inch wheel scooter and enjoy. I also have a Scarabeo 250 with 16 inch wheels. I enjoy riding the Scarabes best but it is not as well built as the Honda.

Even if you can, do you really want to?

I have a Vespa GTGV 250. It can do 70 all day long, and my Vespa seems not to be straining in the least.

However, speed isn't the only consideration. Scooters, by their very nature, are not intended to sustained high-speeds. They are too light, have wheels too small, less than great shocks, and a riding position (upright) that is far from optimal for sustained long rides.

If you want to do rides at sustained cruising speeds, use secondary roads. You'll see a lot more of the country, enjoy your ride more, and be much safer than if you're on the interstates. The best rides in the country are to be found on scenic secondary roads. And scooters are ideal for those rides.

If you must use interstates, wear protective and highly visible clothing, and use only interstates with little traffic and few trucks.

150 Miles wide open

I agree with Kathi 150%. I ride a 150cc Scooter and know it won't do what you are asking. I'm tempted to ask if this is a serios question. Take out towing insurance.You couldn't maintain that speed (if you could get it) on the salt flats. So forget it on the hills and valleys of any normal roadway. Get a Harley. LOL

I have a 250cc Honda reflex and it can run 70 mph all day long. I have taken some 2500 miles trips on it and kept up with the group easy.
The only 150 cc scooter that would have a chance of maintaining 65 mph would be the Honda SH150.
I would recommend a 250cc or stay off the interstate.
