Well THE weather is here! Was above average temperatures all week and I scootered everywhere! Added a windshield, seems to have improved gas mileage a bit and cuts the wind hitting me.

Still debating on whether I want a rack trunk or not. Definitely going with whitewall tires if I get the chance. Still haven't really given up the idea of going to a little bigger scooter, but probably not this year unless I see a bargain I can't pass up.

Hope everyone is having good scooter fun by now! Later!

Wind
by: Anonymous

I've decided not to try to add a windshield to my scooter because we live in Florida. We are having truly beautiful scooter weather now, but still some wind every day. Sure wish I could find my darn scooter keys, we're moving and everything is in such disarray right now...

Buddy Windshield
by: Kathi

Hey Anonymous (wish you'd leave your name)... I had a windshield installed on my Buddy when I bought it, on the recommendation of the sales guy who also drove a Buddy. It definitely cuts the wind, which does help you feel more stable, especially at higher speeds. I'm short, but I still have to duck down a bit when it's really windy or cold, to feel protected by the windshield (I'm only wearing a 3/4 helmet).

I really recommend the windshield...

windshield
by: Ron Goldwyn, Milford CT

I bought my windshield on Ebay, but be careful as many are too thin and are only for 50cc units only. Buy one that says it can take the pressure of a 150 cc unit as a minimum. See my photos in the section on "Scooter Mods"

I have a Yamaha Vino 125 ( 124cc). Unless you are pretty short, you might want the taller windscreen. The wind doesn't hit my body anymore, but does kind of get me in the face. A helmet shield stops that, but then I get a little bit of rattle and wind noise around the helmet. Windshield should help you balance better.

Windshield is good?
by: Anonymous

What type of small scooter do you have? I am also ordering a windshield soon! Cannot stand the wind... makes me feel unstable on my Buddy. Hope it is not a waste of money.

Battery Tender Junior in package

A battery tender like the Battery Tender Jr. can make all the difference in whether your scooter will start right up each spring, after being stored for months.

Just about every scooter owner needs to have a battery tender, sometimes called a trickle charger. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a climate where you can ride all year long, chances are your scooter will be put on ice, figuratively-speaking, for at least a couple months every winter.

One of the key steps in winterizing a scooter is to protect your battery from draining during its "rest" period. This can – and will – happen if you leave your battery sitting untended in your cold scooter over the winter, even if it's in a garage or shed.

Read our review or go right to Amazon.com to buy this highly recommended Battery Tender Jr NOW...
